Aiden Albert

Aiden Albert is a Bardi and Nyul Nyul man from Broome in the Kimberley.Aiden was supported by a MADALAH scholarship to attend boarding school at Christ Church Grammar school, where he graduated from in 2012.

After school he began a heavy diesel fitting apprenticeship with Leighton contractors, however after 2 years he decided it wasn’t the right pathway for him. Aiden started work at Garnduwa where he mentored students from the Kimberley, before he moved onto Arranmore Catholic College as an Aboriginal Teaching Assistant.

Aiden said “it is great to work with young students and talk to them about my own journey and where I came from. I hope to inspire them to continue with their education pathway and look for meaningful options after school”.

In 2017 and 2018 Aiden kindly put up his hand to MC the MADALAH Ball. His courage, dedication and humor to the job had over 700 people in the room engaged and laughing. Thanks to Aiden for giving back to MADALAH by volunteering his time and skills over the past years. The MADALAH Ball is the largest fundraising event in Western Australia for Indigenous Education.

Aiden is still enjoying his role working with Indigenous students, and hopes to study teaching at university in the near future.
