Mark Kirby

Mark Kirby, a young man from Broome came to Nyirrwa Murrgurlayi wanting stable accommodation to assist him in focusing on completing his traineeship with Sheffield Resources. While working on his traineeship, Mark utilised the Employment and Education Housing Program to build his independent living skills. Mark created a budget plan with his Case Support Worker, while also setting goals to obtain his driver’s license and learn to cook.

Mark is now a graduate of the Thunderbird Traineeship and is working as a full time ‘Drive in Drive Out’ (DIDO) employee for Sheffield Resources, on the Thunderbird Mineral Sands Mine between Broome and Derby. Mark leases a private rental for when he is back in Broome and has bought a Jeep!
